Have you heard about the new arts and crafts studio situated under the hall at St Mary By The Sea Church, 168 Deep Creek Road in Torbay? We are a not for profit centre where our community are welcome to come along, get creative and share their work. We run classes and open sessions as well as workshops and tutorials. Currently we offer sewing, crochet, knitting, macrame, mixed media, watercolours, abstract art, card making and paper crafts. We'd love to meet you. Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
