Looking for a flatmate - Kumeu
Hi Neighbours! I have moved nearby, and I'm now looking for a flatmate in my lovely new, three bedroom house.... in nearby Kumeu / Huapai (northwest Auckland).
If anyone is interested, or knows someone who's keen, please feel free to pm me, and pop by to have a look :)
$180 each room + expenses.
This is a brand new, sunny, modern house that I have just built! It was finished late last year. I am looking for a flatmate who is fun and friendly, and who will respect the other flatmates space while also enjoying a great living environment together.
You will share the house with two other flatmates.
Power, water, internet, food are additional costs (excluded from weekly rent).
You will have the benefit of being in a brand-spanking new house, as well as being in an excellent location. If you like being on the edge of the country, but with amenities nearby, then this is perfect for you! As a new house, it is also really comfortable, with double glazing, and full insulation.
You can also head into the city and be there in less than 30 minutes (not counting rush hour!), which is really handy.
Your room isn’t furnished, but it has a generous wardrobe with lot’s of space for your gear, and the shared areas of the house will all be furnished.
(You will be sharing the bathroom with one other flatmate only, as the master room has it’s own ensuite. This advertisement is for one of the two standard bedrooms, not the master).
Bond: 2 x weeks rent
Rent in Advance: 2 x weeks rent
Beautiful Huapai town is 1.3 kilometres away, so an easy walk or a remarkably short drive! Kumeu is also next door.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
-
59.9% Yes, supporting people is important!
-
25.7% No, individuals should take responsibility
-
14.4% ... It is complicated
Poll: Should complete designs be shared with the public, or should the community help shape the designs from the start?
The Post recently shared an opinion piece on the Harbour Crossing and why a more democratic approach might be needed 🚗🚲👟
While most decisions sit within the political arena, many organisations—like NZTA—manage long-term projects that go beyond party lines. Politics can sometimes disrupt progress, and the next Harbour Crossing is a big decision that will affect all Aucklanders.
We’d love your thoughts: Should near-complete, shovel-ready designs be shared with the public, or should the community have a hand in shaping the designs from the start?
-
85% Community feedback and transparency is needed.
-
15% No. This would be impossible in practice.
