Wairuatanga (Spirituality) - Day 21
The Spirit of the Whale
A tohunga once saved a stranded whale by performing karakia (prayers) and calling on Tangaroa, Atua of the sea, to guide its return to the ocean. The whale, a manifestation of wairua (spirit), later returned with its pod to guide the tohunga’s waka through treacherous waters, showing the deep connection between the physical and spiritual worlds.
Moral: Recognizing and nurturing the spiritual essence in all things brings guidance and balance to life.
