Residents in the central Auckland suburb of Ellerslie are facing regular mail thefts and vandalism of their mailboxes.
Thefts have left locals with damaged, broken-into mailboxes, with the first incident dating back as far as two years ago. Cases have been on the rise ever since.
Police confirmed the rise of mail theft not only in Ellerslie, but throughout the city.

Highwic will be open under RED in the traffic light system.
