Room for rent - Beach Haven
Kia ora koutou!
Flatmate wanted to join myself in a lovely quiet 3-bed house in Beach Haven. 🌺
House is single-storey, back off the street, sunny. Two off-street parks to be shared between us (NB: it’s tandem parking). Plenty of on-street parking.
5-10mins walk to bus stops to the city. 5min drive to ferry to the city.
Place is unfurnished aside from a couch so fridge will be hired unless you can bring your own to share. 😊
Room is a double with a wardrobe (sorry only have the one photo) and we would both share the third room which will be a home office and meditation space. 🧘♀️
Small amount of outdoor space with a clothesline. (Won’t be getting a dryer for the house.)
About me: Mature working professional, work 4 days per week, mostly from the office or out and about. Work in the environmental industry, try to live sustainably (and healthily) and hobbies include meditation, dancing, gardening. 🪴 💃
About you: someone looking for a home, not just a room to hide in. 😋 Respectful, friendly, communicative and able to do their own dishes and laundry as well as sharing the chores. 😊
Ideally keen to sit and chat over a cup of tea on the weekend sometimes. ☕️
Cats negotiable, no dogs sorry. Ideally suits a single but couples can be discussed with the landlord. :)
Rent is $305 per week plus expenses (bills to be divided equally - electricity, broadband, appliance rental, water and then shared household stuff like toilet paper). Bond 4wks rent, one week rent in advance.
Available now. 🏡
Poll: As a customer, what do you think about automation?
The Press investigates the growing reliance on your unpaid labour.
Automation (or the “unpaid shift”) is often described as efficient ... but it tends to benefit employers more than consumers.
We want to know: What do you think about automation?
Are you for, or against?
-
9.4% For. Self-service is less frustrating and convenient.
-
43.5% I want to be able to choose.
-
47.1% Against. I want to deal with people.
Time to Tickle Your Thinker 🧠
If a zookeeper had 100 pairs of animals in her zoo, and two pairs of babies are born for each one of the original animals, then (sadly) 23 animals don’t survive, how many animals do you have left in total?
