I am in my 60s, vaccinated, single, non-smoking, a quiet and respectful librarian who works part-time at home and who is looking for a peaceful place to live. I have my own furniture, although if the place is already furnished that isn't a deal breaker. I need to leave my present flat by Christmas. And I can provide glowing references. Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
