Work will take approx. 10 weeks, depending on weather, so the new court should be opening in the new year.
A wonderful new information panel has been installed at Larking's Landing telling the story behind the playboat and Frank Larking's numerous contributions to Beach Haven.
Also installed are the carved panels from the seats that Frank had built at Larking's Landing and the Hilders … View moreA wonderful new information panel has been installed at Larking's Landing telling the story behind the playboat and Frank Larking's numerous contributions to Beach Haven.
Also installed are the carved panels from the seats that Frank had built at Larking's Landing and the Hilders Park lookout. Unfortunately the seats had deteriorated and needed to be replaced, but the carved panels were saved and refurbished, and can be found next to the boat.
Thankyou to the Birkenhead Heritage Society, Beach Haven Placemaking Group, Beach Haven Birkdale Residents Association, Save Frank Larkings boat and all of the individuals who contributed their knowledge to the wording of the information sign. And thankyou to Ruth Jackson for storing the seat panels for 18 months before they were able to return to their home.

The Commerce Commission plans to follow a similar approach to that of their investigation into the price of petrol and diesel for land transport, which cost the taxpayer an estimated $2.5 million dollars. Labour promised an investigation into food prices on the election campaign and if unfair practices are found when the Commission's report is released in late 2021, necessary changes will be made.
