Who's Zooming who?
So proud of our children who recently had the opportunity to Zoom with Sophia, a scientist with Soilsafe Aotearoa.
They managed well, gathering around to listen, watch and interact with Sophia - they learnt about the different colours and textures of soils, what they feel like and the importance of healthy soils.
They were genuinely interested in what she had to say and talked about the experience with each other after the Zoom was over and we were out and about on an excursion.
It was a wonderful example of technology, technology use and lessons about the natural world working together to enhance our children's learning. Thank you so much Soilsafe Aotearoa!

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
