Public consultation on West Auckland Airport

Ministry of Transport

West Auckland Airport, Parakai has made an application to the Ministry of Transport to become an airport authority. The powers and responsibilities the Airport has under legislation will change should the application be granted. The Ministry of Transport would like to hear views from the community about this application through a public consultation process.

**Public meeting**
23 May, 7:30 pm,
Helensville War Memorial Hall
Light refreshments will be provided

Please RSVP to ParakaiAirport@transport.govt.nz by 16 May

West Auckland Airport has applied for airport authority status, as it plans to develop the airport, with the aim of attracting a commercial passenger-carrying airline. Part of this plan could include the development of a new, longer runway. It views airport authority status as an important step for future growth, allowing it greater ability to attract new investment for planned developments. We are inviting submissions on the proposal from West Auckland Airport, and you are also welcome to attend a public meeting on this application.

Public consultation - providing feedback
There are a number of ways you can provide feedback on the application. The deadline for all submissions is 31 May 2019. Information about the application can be found at www.transport.govt.nz

Poll: Should complete designs be shared with the public, or should the community help shape the designs from the start?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Post recently shared an opinion piece on the Harbour Crossing and why a more democratic approach might be needed 🚗🚲👟

While most decisions sit within the political arena, many organisations—like NZTA—manage long-term projects that go beyond party lines. Politics can sometimes disrupt progress, and the next Harbour Crossing is a big decision that will affect all Aucklanders.

We’d love your thoughts: Should near-complete, shovel-ready designs be shared with the public, or should the community have a hand in shaping the designs from the start?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Reserve Bank has shared some pretty blunt advice: there’s no such thing as a “safe” job anymore 🛟😑

Robots are stepping into repetitive roles in factories, plants and warehouses. AI is taking care of the admin tasks that once filled many mid-level office jobs.

We want to know: As the world evolves, what skills do you think give a CV the ultimate edge in a robot-filled workplace?
