Strategic Grant Seeking and Writing Workshop
Whether you’re new to grant writing, or you’ve applied for grants in the past, this workshop will help you gain a better understanding of the grants process and what it takes to be successful in the grant seeking space. In this practical workshop, participants will learn how to develop a compelling and succinct grant application (and funding proposal) that stands out.
In this workshop we will cover:
* Overview of current grants environment in NZ
* What you must be aware of before you kick off your grant application/funding proposal
* The different grant options there are for your organisation and where to look for grants
* Funder’s expectations
* How to structure and write a winning funding proposal, working through the most common grant application questions
This session ideal for Managers, Trustees and Fundraisers from grassroots and community based not for profit organisations who want to learn more about the Grant Funding environment and practical strategies to increase your funding success.

Who is Therese Lanigan-Behrent?
Therese supports not-for-profits, social enterprises and values driven organisations with training, strategic advice and practical hand on help as an Independent Funding and Marketing Consultant. She helps drive their mission through establishing robust planning frameworks, powerful storytelling and strategic funding support.
Therese’s experience in the sector as a funder (Vodafone Foundation and Lottery Community Auckland), Grants Strategist, Senior Marketer and Sponsorship Manager (for ASB, Vodafone & Jucy) and work with Auckland Council, has given her invaluable knowledge of the funding landscape and options for NFPs. In a voluntary capacity, Therese enjoys coaching not-for-profit organisations with their crowdfunding endeavours through her work with The Funding Network.
⚠️ DOGS DIE IN HOT CARS. If you love them, don't leave them. ⚠️
It's a message we share time and time again, and this year, we're calling on you to help us spread that message further.
Did you know that calls to SPCA about dogs left inside hot cars made up a whopping 11% of all welfare calls last summer? This is a completely preventable issue, and one which is causing hundreds of dogs (often loved pets) to suffer.
Here are some quick facts to share with the dog owners in your life:
👉 The temperature inside a car can heat to over 50°C in less than 15 minutes.
👉 Parking in the shade and cracking windows does little to help on a warm day. Dogs rely on panting to keep cool, which they can't do in a hot car.
👉 This puts dogs at a high risk of heatstroke - a serious condition for dogs, with a mortality rate between 39%-50%.
👉 It is an offence under the Animal Welfare Act to leave a dog in a hot vehicle if they are showing signs of heat stress. You can be fined, and prosecuted.

We encourage you to use these - and ask your local businesses to display the posters if they can. Flyers can be kept in your car and handed out as needed.
