Water safety warning: Swim at patrolled beaches, Surf Life Savers say

Hi neighbours, there have been more preventable drownings in Auckland so far in 2019 than at the same time last year - and Surf Life Saving New Zealand are now urging Aucklanders to swim at beaches patrolled by life guards during summer, such as Piha, Muriwai and Bethells, in a bid to prevent more tragedies in the water. The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)

Dead cat

Salima from Goodwood Heights

I saw a dead cat on Everglade Drive this morning near the crossing of Keri Anne place. It had been placed near the pavement. Black and white colour. Young. Did not look like it had been dead too long. If you know anyone who is looking for a cat, please inform.
