Illegal Dumping

Bronwyn from Manurewa

Many of you may have noticed the increasing pile of illegal dumping at Penney lane in Manurewa. The Auckland City Council have said that they are not going to do anything about this because it is on "private land". One of the early dumpings had an address from Campbell's Bay (North Shore) so the dumpers are prepared to travel some distance to dump in our Neighbourhood. Last night there were large orange bags of garden rubbish dumped and the other stuff has been gone through and chucked everywhere. One of the residents from the lane has been verbally abused by the scavengers/dumpers. I have offered to shift it all out onto the road so it is in a public area and that may well force the Auckland City Council to deal with it

Dead cat

Salima from Goodwood Heights

I saw a dead cat on Everglade Drive this morning near the crossing of Keri Anne place. It had been placed near the pavement. Black and white colour. Young. Did not look like it had been dead too long. If you know anyone who is looking for a cat, please inform.
