Emergency shutdown this Sunday (early morning) in some parts of Takanini/Manurewa
We wanted to let you know about an emergency power shutdown early morning, this Sunday 17 March from 3.30am to 6.00am.
Streets affected include parts of: Hyperion Drive, Porchester Road, Alfriston Road and Taipan Place. Affected customers will also be sent an email or text message.
Background Information:
Customers were connected to a generator on Monday 11 March after a fault on the network with a high voltage cable.
The outage on Sunday will allow us to reconnect these customers safely to the electricity network and to disconnect them from generation.
We advise those affected to switch off all sensitive electrical equipment for the duration of the shutdown. Please remember, for your own safety, to treat all wiring and sockets as live at all times.
If you use medical equipment that relies on electricity you should let your retailer know and ensure you are prepared for power disruption. If there is an immediate health threat, please contact your health provider or call 111.
Thanks for your patience.
Poll: Have you ever been bullied?
People associate bullying with children in schools, but it can actually stretch beyond childhood to workplaces or neighbourhoods.
This Friday is Pink Shirt Day, which began in Canada in 2007 when two students took a stand against homophobic bullying after a new student was harassed for wearing pink. People across the globe are now encouraged to wear pink on this day to take a stand against bullying and promote inclusivity.
Have you or your whānau ever experienced bullying? Share your thoughts on Pink Shirt Day below.
