I'm not even sure whether covid19 lockdowns has had any real or detriment impacts to our vet clinics (ie. there appear to be a shortage of vets), or the ability and capacity for animal shelters to take in more stray cats.

We've had 3 kittens hanging around our place (now about 5months old) we've been feeding but not wanting to home/adopt them (we have 1 of our own), trying to find a shelter that could find homes for them but no luck so far. I found one of them this morning sprawled out on the lawn, he hadn't been looking too well recently, but found him stone cold, faintly breathing. Grateful to the clinic for bumping him up the long waiting queue, unfortunately much to my devastation he had passed away by the time we got there. Now I am more determined to find homes for the remaining 2. If anyone knows any shelters that could take these 2 in the meantime until they get homed, I would greatly appreciate it.
I'd be willing to take care of their vet bills and provide food for them as well as assist find homes for them. I'm still reaching out to more shelters, the ones that have gotten back to me are unable to take them in so I'm hoping you would know of anyone that could help.
Thank you!

Hi neighbours!

After more than a year of closed borders, Australians and New Zealanders will soon be able to jet-hop between countries after the government announced that the trans-Tasman travel bubble will be operational from April 19.

With quarantine-free travel now possible, are you more likely to head across the Tasman or travel domestically?

Fronting Australian media yesterday, Jacinda Ardern not only spoke of the excitement of families being able to be reunited, but also pitched New Zealand tourist activities to Australian viewers.

"If there is a hot spot in one of the states of Australia we may just act in the same way that another state would ... Just prepare that there may be disruptions, but what better place in the world to be stuck. Am I right?," she said.

The trans-Tasman bubble will operate on a three tier basis: Continue, Pause and Suspend. If there are a few cases in Australia linked to the border, quarantine-free travel will continue. Travel may be paused for 72 hours if there are rogue community cases and in the instance of a state or nationwide lockdown, travel will be suspended.
