Easter Services at St James Anglican Church Mangere Bridge

PALM  SUNDAY SERVICE 9th April  at 9.00 am. Blessing and distribution of the Palm Crosses.
MAUNDY THURSDAY SERVICE. 13th April at 7.00 pm. This is a service of footwashing and Holy Communion. Service begins with a symbolic last supper.
GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE. 14th April. This service begins with the Procession of the Cross through the Village from Hammer Hardware at 8.30 am to arrive at the church for the Good Friday reflection service at 9.00 am.
EASTER EVE SERVICE.  15th April. This is a midnight Holy Communion service and begins at 11.30 pm with the Service of Light ( lighting of the Paschal Candle.) Communion service follows on at midnight.
 EASTER DAY SERVICE. 16th April at 9.00 am. Celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus. Holy Communion.
 FIRST SUNDAY AFTER EASTER. Normal Sunday morning Service at 9.00 am.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
