*Major Kāinga Ora Update for Bolton Street / Marlowe Road 04/04*

Benji from Blockhouse Bay

Kia ora whānau, next Tuesday 11th April from 6:45 - 7:45 there will be a meeting with Kāinga Ora, chaired by MP Deborah Russell. This will take place in the Ivan Burgess Room at the Blockhouse Bay Community Centre. This may be our only opportunity to not only voice our disappointment about Mr Thompson's generous gift not being honoured with no pensioner housing in the proposal, but also any other concerns we may have. We need you to show your support. Please share this to neighbours, friends and family so that everyone can get along to it!

Kāinga Ora had intended to provide answers to our questions from the Blockhouse Bay Markets on 25/03 by last Friday (31/03). Kāinga Ora has not done so. They not only have not provided a response to our questions but they also have provided no response to the signed documents that outlined the gifting and are still seeking their own legal advice. They have said information should be provided by 4pm tomorrow (05/04).

Further updates:

- Newshub have conducted a TV interview and this should air towards the end of the week.

- Newstalk ZB plans to run the story around Easter Weekend.

- I have had a meeting with Mark Mitchell National MP who has lent his full support and will assist where possible (he has dealt with KO before). Listen out for him on Newstalk Zb tomorrow morning where he may discuss this.

- I am still awaiting a promised personal response from Megan Woods (Minister of Housing)

- S92 Letter response has been extended to 14/04 (pending Council approval to do so)

- RNZ published an article and audio last week (re-distributed by TVNZ and Newshub)

Again here is the link to the petition to sign, share and comment on - chng.it...

Let's DO IT FOR DARBY! Hope to see you there next Tuesday 11th April at 6:45.

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Where possible, do you think employees should be able to work from home? Vote below and share your thoughts in the comments.
