Cascades Road Roundabout Changes

Auckland Transport is calling for submissions on a proposal for the Cascades Road/Aviemore Drive roundabout. They are proposing to add roundabout metering signals to the eastern leg of the roundabout, as well as removing parking on the Country Club side of the road to make way for a second westbound lane, to attempt to improve traffic flow at peak times.

I would encourage anyone who drives on this road regularly to make a submission, and you can do so at the following link:

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
