We kicked of the occasion with a delicious finger food lunch, followed by a more semi-formal evening function where we were entertained by the amazing Jackie Clark. We also have a couple more exciting functions planned.

A special Pioneers Lunch will be held on 31st August for all the residents that moved into Acacia Cove during 1998 and 1999. What an amazing privilege to still have 20 of those first Residents with us!

the council introduced a new system a few months ago for reporting
noise during the daytime 8am -6pm you must first call and get a reference number, then call back 30 mins later before an officer
is despatched and could be an hour before they arrive.
this ridiculous rule has now been extended till 8pm over the summer
in my experience it can take 15 mins to  get the call centre to answer
another 10 mins explaining and then being given a reference number
to have to call back in 30 mins then anoither 15 mins on the phone
then waiting for an officer sometimes total time from 1st call can be
over 2 hours before any relief, and then the officer may be deaf or dosent even stop, with the warmer weather if you want to sit outside
in the sun after work, and you have neighbours who like the music loud
you have to go through this rigmole  and it is very time consuming
and frustrating.having to put up doing it, so I guess the council hope
we wont, come home at 5pm sit on your deck hear unwanted music?
by 7pm you may have council do something, by then you don't want
to go outside anymore,
we have got to the stage we ring everyday to get a ref number raedy
to ring back
please contact your local councillor and try to get this stupid idea
thrown out, it is no use for shift workers who need to sleep during the
day, anyone at home or someone trying to get babies to sleep it ips
a stupid cost cutting rule. I am hoping the amnesty the had last
year till 2am is not in effect again this year, at new years eve, last year
at 2am they had so many calls the phone lines were overloaded as they
would not take calls before 2am, we rung at 2am on our clock but they
would take the call as their clock said 5 to 2. we finally got through again at 3.30am with an officer showing up at 6am after being awake'

Hi neighbours,

Have you always wanted to scooter to work? Now is your chance!

About 600 electric scooters (e-scooters) have been launched in Auckland by California-based company Lime. The scooters can travel at speeds of up to 27kmh and have a maximum range of 48km. But not everyone is impressed, with some calling labeling the scooters as a "menace on footpaths". To read more about them, click here.

What are your thoughts on them? Will you give them a go? Will it be cheaper for you to scooter to work rather than drive and pay for parking? Or do you think they're a hazard for pedestrians? Share you thoughts with us in the replies below!

Crashes in Auckland are causing traffic delays for motorists ahead of Labour Weekend.

Auckland Transport advised motorists to allow extra time for their journeys this morning. A crash at 7.40am along the northwestern motorway was blocking the middle lane eastbound after Newton Rd, the New Zealand Transport Agency said. Footage from traffic cameras showed the speed on the motorway had been reduced to 50kmh.

Tamaki Makaurau Road Policing Manager Inspector Scott Webb says traffic congestion is going to reach peak levels on Friday and Saturday as motorists leave Auckland for the long weekend.

Inspector Webb says three people were killed and eight people were seriously injured on our roads across Tamaki Makaurau during Labour Day Weekend in 2017.
