Bob Fest on East FM, tomorrow Saturday arvo from 3pm
Bob Dylan and I go way back, and with him being 80 this year, we’re having Bob Fest on tomorrow arvo’s She’ll Be Right on Saturdays Show with PJ Taylor, 3-7pm (NZ time) on East FM. Have been meaning to properly acknowledge the great man’s golden age for some time – he turned 80 on May 24 - and with lockdown in Auckland almost at an end, the times are most certainly a changin’. Again.
If this week’s weather is anything to go by, the sweet summer burst we’ve had since the last rainfall, things could be on the up.
In a 13-year first for She’ll Be Right, we’re only playing music by one artist - four hours of Bob Dylan’s compositions – originals, recorded live with The Band, and many of the superb interpretations down the six decades including fresh new covers out this year.
The Beatles and Rolling Stones made us twist, scream and shout. Bob had us thinking. He put his uniquely perceptive and intelligent words to music that mixed all the best ingredients of heartland American music he discovered, digested and extended.
I learned of Dylan via The Seekers at primary school in New Windsor as we sang the Aussies’ style of Bob’s creations. That was the early 1970s. A simpler time. Black and white TV.
Proving he’s been relevant and making us stop, look and listen since the early 1960s, out came another of Bob’s top-shelf gems last year, Rough and Rowdy Ways, which we’ll spin tracks from and many of the extensive back catalogue of albums. Requests welcome at studio@eastfm.nz
The She’ll Be Right Show with PJ blasts out of East FM, East Auckland’s enduring community-powered public service radio station, on 88.1FM and 107.1FM on local frequencies, nationally and globally on www.eastfm.nz... and on app iHeart Radio.
Looking forward to being locked down in the East FM studio from 3pm – it’s all about the vibe; it’s all about the Bob – Bob Fest. – PJ
accommodation in Wellington
Hi everyone,
I’m moving to Wellington for work and looking for a place from 16 February 2026. I’m 22 and starting a full-time role as a young graduate professional in IT/Data Science in the CBD.
I’m tidy, respectful, quiet, non-smoker, and like keeping my space clean. Outside of work I enjoy music and photography, but I do keep things quiet at home. I don’t have a car, so good bus access or train to the CBD is important.
What I’m after:
-Prefer living alone (studio/bedsit) but open to a quiet flat with other Asians too
- Easy bus access or walking distance to the CBD
- Furnished
- Close to a supermarket
- Long-term
- Budget up to $400/week
- Move in early Jan or early Feb 2026
Just checking if you know any places
Thank you
Regards, Reuben

I dance in the sky with green and gold, a spectacle few are lucky to behold; I’m best seen in the south, a celestial sight—what am I, lighting up the New Zealand night?
