The fuel tax is through... Is this good news?
The Government's Regional Fuel Tax bill has passed its third reading - just in time to come into force on July 1. The legislation will allow Auckland Council to levy a 11.5c/litre tax on fuel sold within Auckland. It's expected to raise roughly $1.5b directly over the next 10 years and unlock $4.3b in investment to fund projects that would not be viable without the tax. Are you happy about the outcome?
