I'm presenting a seminar on Tue 16th Feb as part of Auckland Pride Festival.
It's designed for anyone interested in this controversial practice - gay or straight, religious or atheist. All welcome!
This seminar looks at the nature of religious abuse and conversion therapy, especially in the context of Christian based religions.
We’ll be looking at:
• The subtle, and not so subtle, methods of trying to make us “straight”.
• The use and abuse of doctrines and the bible
• The mental health issues faced by victims
• Ways of addressing the issues and finding a way forward
• Untangling our beliefs from reality

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
