Far East OPTIMIST 4431, year 2009, in great condition, FOR SALE

Christina from Devonport

Our kids have moved to other sailing classes, so we sell our Far East OPTIMIST 4431, year 2009, in great condition.

Boat, sail and all parts have been nicely cleaned after each session, well looked after and always stored under cover in a garage.

Details:
- This boat/sail combination was used by us and one former owner at Wakatere Club and won many races and was successful at other competitions.
- Sail # NZL4431. Far East Optimist, has had decent use, but still in very sound, good condition with a few scratches/nicks consistent with use at training/racing regattas etc.
- Yellow foils in good condition
- Black/Gold spars also in good condition
- All lines/ropes replaced as necessary etc
- Comes with hull, spars, foils, beach trolley, measurement book/papers and everything shown in photos
- Fibreglass rudder/tiller
- Fibreglass centre board
- Comes with full complimentary rigging/tuning session, if desired!
- Inspection most welcome (and almost prefer it so people know what they’ve getting).
- Price $1,100 or nearest offer. Compare with current boats on trade me. I think this is a very fair price for the boat which I’m happy to sell it to a young passionate sailor.

- Photos attached and more available to interested parties

Ready to practice, learn to sail, race, and have a lot of fun on the water. This is ideal for the start of sailing season, or for Christmas.

Check and see us, sailboat is stored in Auckland-Devonport.

Poll: Should complete designs be shared with the public, or should the community help shape the designs from the start?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Post recently shared an opinion piece on the Harbour Crossing and why a more democratic approach might be needed 🚗🚲👟

While most decisions sit within the political arena, many organisations—like NZTA—manage long-term projects that go beyond party lines. Politics can sometimes disrupt progress, and the next Harbour Crossing is a big decision that will affect all Aucklanders.

We’d love your thoughts: Should near-complete, shovel-ready designs be shared with the public, or should the community have a hand in shaping the designs from the start?

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
