Glenfield Shops
Last week I took some goods to the Glenfield Salvation Army Store. Parked outside the shop and retrieved unlidded carton from car, took three paces, only to be accosted by two women who immediately began to sort through the contents of the box as I held it! They quickly helped themselves to what they wanted and went on their way. Of course, you are standing there with your hands full and are taken by surprise, and it's all over in a flash. When I thought about it though, it is cheeky petty theft - taken from you, and from the charitable organisation you support. The two indivdiuals did not look poor nor underprivileged, (just pushy) and are probably better off than a lot of folk the Sallie's proceeds help. So be warned! Donations in boxes with lids if possible, and park close to door.. I'll be ready next time!
That way, the real people worthy of support get it.
