Thor, a resident of Devonport, is Associate Professor at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute and has a joint appointment with the Department of Engineering Science where he is a biomechanics researcher. His research combines medical imaging with computational biomechanical simulation to understand mechanisms of musculoskeletal injury and disease, and developing models which can be used to diagnose and treat injury and disease, particularly of the knee joint.

Cost: $20 if booked in advance, otherwise $25. Includes full breakfast, and coffee or tea.

Students inspire environmental design

The students picked up their pencils and Play-Doh and sketched and sculpted designs of how they would like their restored reserve to look. The designs were largely inspired by nature and the surrounding landscape and the native species the Healthy Waters team was trying to attract back.
