Facialis fruit fly found in Ōtara
A single male facilias fruit fly has been found in a trap in the Auckland suburb of Ōtara.
There is now a 1.5 kilometre controlled area in in place, and some properties are being inspected.
If you are within the controlled area there are restrictions on the movement of fruit and vegetables.
Visit biosecurity.govt.nz/fruitfly for more instructions and information.
Happy Tuesday neighbours, here's a riddle to get your mind going.
I am beautiful, up in the sky.
I am magical, yet I cannot fly.
To some I bring luck, and to some, I bring riches.
The boy at my end does whatever he wishes.
What am I?
