Phew! it’s been a bit of a hectic week for me so for this ✨Self Care Sunday✨ episode I just wanted to share a quick and easy little practice: listening to bilateral music for relaxation and stress relief.

Bilateral music is music with a sound that pans between left and right ears. This creates bilateral stimulation in the brain which can help with emotional processing and tends to have a soothing effect.

Spoonbills moving on best roost Orakei Basin?

Over the past year a couple of spoonbills were around in the water, then on an old tree low in the water (inferior roost!) then a couple made their way to what I think is the best roost, where the shags have been for years.

Recently I saw 7 spoonbills on the primo roost! And they are taking to a higher roost in the trees too. Looks like they are moving in?? Better plot than Netflix?

Enjoy nature at this time. Kind wishes, Eve

An exciting way to stay active during the Covid-19 lockdown, explore Auckland and win prizes has arrived in the form of the Street Art Bike Challenge.

To participate people simple need to snap a photo of themselves, their bike, a piece of street art, and share the photo with the hashtag #streetartbikechallenge.

The event will run throughout October and aims to encourage people to cycle around the city and stay active throughout the Covid-19 lockdown.

It is being hosted by EcoMatters Bike Hubs, who have compiled a map of over 200 street art pieces around Auckland to get people started.

It may help to turn my life to normal before lockdown fractured my humerus where it goes into my shoulder. Contusion of shoulder and body. Chest and breasts turned bright yellow then blac. Arm black to upper knuckles. Shoulder blades painful part of back black. Also had concussion. Fell on both sides. Constant pain. I know there are people in worse straits than me. Cant go to specialist appoinments get xrays physio etc. Thank you to the student volunteer army in auckland. A jab even if you think are useless would help alot of injured people. Get those numbers up. At the moment I feel I will be permantly disabled.
