Harbour Bridge maintenance
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises there will be closures around State Highway 1 (SH1) Auckland Harbour Bridge on Monday 2 October between 9.30pm and 5am due to maintenance.
What you need to know:
- There will be southbound lane restrictions including the southbound clip-on lanes.
- Shelly Beach Road southbound off-ramp will be closed at this time (best detour via Fanshawe Street, Beaumont Street and Westhaven Drive).
- There may be increased noise levels as paving activities are being carried out.

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
