CAREGIVER POSITION FOR RETIRED NURSE, STUDENT NURSE

Helen from Totara Vale

Hi Neighbours. We need a special someone to help us with some Caregiving for my 88yo mother. We are based on the Shore. Ideally a retired nurse, or a student nurse looking for a part time job as my mother had a stroke & needs assistance. I have been looking after her FT, just need a helping hand. We have a carer who showers her each day so no need to do that. The role would be 1-2 days a week initially helping her get ready in the morning, making her breakfast, lunch & possibly dinner. Keeping her company 😃 while she is watching her Chinese TV or just walking out on the deck. Light cleaning duties also, making her bed, cleaning her bathroom, keeping her bedroom tidy. Mum is a lovely lady, a soft spoken person, good SOH, has limited English but she is suited with somebody with a quiet, caring nature would be ideal. If interested😃 please call/text me 027 3862680 & we can have a chat. Cheers Helen

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

Poll: As a customer, what do you think about automation?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Press investigates the growing reliance on your unpaid labour.

Automation (or the “unpaid shift”) is often described as efficient ... but it tends to benefit employers more than consumers.

We want to know: What do you think about automation?
Are you for, or against?
