Musical concert on the afternoon of 6 May
This is our fundraising musical concert complete with Devonshire tea. 2 p.m. on Saturday 6 May. At St Aidans, 97 Onewa Road. Proceeds go to Onewa Christian Community and De Paul House. A quartet of fine musicians will perform a wonderful programme. Could be a good mother's day present for the following week?
Handel's 'Let the bright seraphim,' Vivaldi's 'Domine Deus,' 'Allegro con brio' (Beethoven), Franck's 'Panis angelicus,' 'Chanson d'amour' for soprano (Amy Beach), 'The Carnival of Venice' by Arban, 'Sogno d'or' (Puccini), 'Ave Maria,' 'What a wonderful world' by G. D. Weiss and the Sanders arrangement of Bart Howard's 'Fly me to the moon.'

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
