Clothes Sale - Saturday 15th August POSTPONED

Sylvia Heywood from Soroptimist International North Shore

NOT KNOWING AT THIS STAGE HOW LONG WE MAY ACTUALLY STAY AT ALERT LEVEL 3 WE HAVE DECIDED TO POSTPONE THE CLOTHES SWAP. Please watch out for the new date.
COVID-19 has had a big negative impact on women re-entering the workforce which now requires extra effort, confidence, career advice, styling and having the right professional work wear, as well as on-going professional networking, leadership skills and retention programmes.
Soroptimists International North Shore have organised a clothes swap to help raise funds to assist women to gain employment and become financially independent. Dress for Success has helped at least 60% of the women they work with succeed in securing employment.
Door entry $5 and dollar donations for clothes swaps. Soroptimists are providing refreshments and will be selling raffle tickets prizes to be drawn on the day.
This is a wonderful opportunity to donate pre-loved clothing and meet new friends, or bring your existing friends and find some wonderful swaps for your wardrobe.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
