Hi there,
I’ve been really struggling with University, particularly with motivation and procrastination. I start off the semester doing really well, a top student, having so much will power, and then something changes in my brain after a month or so and I begin to spiral into an irrational state of avoidance of all uni work. Like I’d rather die then touch a text book. I end up doing little to no work at all and ultimately failing things. I’m great at learning things very fast last minute. But this obviously doesn’t work well in university. I really want to finish my degree but close to giving up as it’s taking a massive toll on my health. I’ve believed the idea that “I just need to do it there’s no magic solution” for too long, Ive tried my best and it keeps happening.

If anyone has any idea what’s going on here, or knows who I should speak to about this, please let me know. I’d be happy to pay you for some help.

Kia ora e te whānau. It's a good day for North Shore commuters, with the opening of the Northern Busway extension between the Albany and Constellation stations.

The new stretch of road allows southbound buses to skip the motorway near Greville Rd, where traffic usually comes to a crawl, while northbound buses no longer need to navigate the busy interchange at Constellation Drive and Upper Harbour Hwy.

“This means no time sitting at traffic lights, quicker journeys, and more consistent travel times,” Auckland Transport said.

Kia ora neighbours. A $5.4 million pipe upgrade could help prevent sewage from overflowing onto Takapuna Beach.

The upgrade of the 1.6km wastewater pipe, which runs the full length of the beach, began this week and would take until around August to complete, Watercare project manager Johan Gerritsen said.

Recent investigations found the pipe, built in the 1940s, was in urgent need of an upgrade.

“By relining this section of the pipe we’ll extend its life by 50 years and significantly reduce wastewater overflows in the area.”

The work would be done by a self-propelling device, which spins around inside the pipe to line it with plastic.

That would eliminate the need for workers to dig trenches to get to the pipe, meaning disruption to beachgoers would be minimal, road closures unnecessary and the pipe might still be used during the project.

“It’s also faster, cheaper and has a lower carbon footprint,” Gerritsen said.
