JOINING IN THE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT
The annual packing of treats donated by members of the Mairangi Bay Presbyterian Church took place on 6 December.
Representatives from the three recipient groups within Presbyterian Support Northern: (Family Start; SHINE and Youth Workers in Secondary Schools) joined in. They each gave a summary of the work they do and how much these gift boxes are appreciated. They have the responsibility of making sure that these boxes get to the families and people who are in need of some cheer.
This year a new record of 82 boxes was achieved as well as 3 bins of donated products that wouldn’t fit in the boxes.
Photos show the hall at the start of the wrapping service as well as a close up of wrapping in progress. It was a joyous occasion.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
-
59% Yes, supporting people is important!
-
24.3% No, individuals should take responsibility

Night-time chipsealing works on SH2
From 9 to 17 February, stop/go traffic management will be in place on SH2 between McPherson Road and Dimmock Road on multiple nights between 9pm and 5am (Sundays to Thursdays).
During the day, all lanes will be open, but speed restrictions will apply to allow the chipseal to set and to protect vehicles travelling over the newly laid surface.
There may be delays to your journey when travelling through the area. This is weather dependent so check NZTA Journey Planner before you travel.
