Metservice is forecasting a change in the weather with showers and low temperatures in the region over the weekend, so it’s important that drivers stay alert, be patient and don’t rush.

For motorists heading south out of Auckland, it’s heaviest at Takanini on SH1 between 10:30am and 7:30pm on Friday. Coming back, the busiest time on Monday is 10:30am – 8pm.

Noticed a dog running on the freeway and we pulled to the side and had tried to get him to avoid him from getting hit. Thankfully for this other man who stopped as well to help. The dog nearly got ran over. After several attempts to try and get him we had no luck but the dog had ran back toward the ramp we came from, and being on the freeway we couldn't go back. Came to work this morning and just couldn't stop thinking of that dog. I called the police and had raised this as well. As I was speaking with the police they mentioned that the dog was no longer on the freeway. My heart felt so relieved. But it seemed as if it was hit earlier before we were trying to rescue him. I hope the owners have found their dog. I have one of my own, and I wouldn't like to see it get hurt. I just wanna know that he's home safe where he should be :(

what is a set date of sale? (Deadline by private treaty)

A deadline sale or deadline private treaty is similar to the tender process. A property is offered for sale with no fixed price. 15th June is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. It is estimated that approximately 10% of those aged 65+ experience some form of elder abuse (see our website for more information on prevalence etc.).

This year we are promoting connection as a way to prevent elder abuse! Connecting is something we can all do that would help to increase resilience against incidents of elder abuse in our communities and our whanau! Get together this June to celebrate WEAAD and connect over a cuppa.

We are also hosting a morning tea on Wednesday the 12th of June for you to pop in and get to know our social work team. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the issue of elder abuse faced by our community and how you can recognize when someone may be experiencing it. Drop in between 9:30am - 11:30am at Cambria Park Homestead, 250 Puhinui Road, Papatoetoe.
