From 11am NZST on Thursday 30 April until Sunday 17 May, Artfair.co.nz will be hosting a Virtual Art Fair where you will discover more than 30 galleries from New Zealand and Australia displaying works that would have otherwise been seen at the 2020 Auckland Art Fair.

The Virtual Art Fair is in recognition of the artists who have already made special works for the Auckland Art Fair that couldn’t happen, and the galleries who have supported them in doing so.

“It comes at a time of global uncertainty, when the importance of art, community and culture are especially apparent,” their team said in a recent statement.

The Auckland Art Fair is designed to be “a celebration – as best we can – of the talent and diversity of art making by artists from our region; not only across New Zealand and Australia, but also around the wider Pacific-rim. We hope that, wherever possible, some of these artists and galleries will be supported by someone buying a work of art.”

Browse, look, enquire and consider as you get to know new galleries and artists in support of contemporary culture at a time when the artists and galleries really need it.

The majority are very considerate but a few people think social distancing doesn't apply to them. I am not out walking as much now because it's not as enjoyable and I'm finding that it's me having to move up the bank or into the road so we can pass safely. I may have white/grey hair but that does not make me invisible. Please can I suggest we all walk on the left hand side .. in the same direction as cars...where possible.. we will then all walk in the same direction.. and cyclists and runners on the road as much as possible. I really do not want to go back to level 4. Thank you

We are now able to accept none contact personal drop offs and pick ups of Photos. Masks and gloves will be worn during personal consultations and safe distances will be kept. Therefore we can keep everyone safe during this difficult crisis. You can find out more about the Level 3 conditions at the governments Covid-19 website.

We are able to turn things around quite quickly at the moment so please help to support your local businesses to get back up and running.

INTERNET
The upload facility on our web page are available 24hrs a day, 7 days a week. To use this service you will need to scan your photo or take a photo of it by using your phone. A great APP to help with this is Google PhotoScan app which is available at the Google Play Store. There are details of the scanning requirements on our Photo Restoration page in the FAQs section.

Take one plain wooden dining chair and make it a stand-alone statement piece with two Resene colours. You don’t always need a full set of dining chairs; they can be statement pieces all on their own!

You could use a chair like this in a home office, as a plant stand, or as a bedside table for your books and lamp. Painting one chair is an easy way to inject a bit of colour into a room too.

Make the most of this weekend with this easy step by step project idea from Resene.

Find out how to create your own.
