When sugar mixes with saliva, it creates a sticky film (plaque) that coats the teeth.Brushing can remove plaque, but that becomes harder to do with braces. And if you're unable to remove this sticky film, there's a risk of tooth decay.Be mindful that braces are sensitive to damage, so you'll need to avoid certain foods for as long as you have braces. These include sticky and hard foods that can damage the wires or bands, or cause a bracket to separate from a tooth. What can we do to make you smile?Call Candice and make an appointment today 09 448 1128.....#nuts #culinaria #food #vegan #powerfoods #sweeds #desert #fruits #fizzy #smile #xmas #bachmannsmile #nuts #bachmannorthodontics #foodie #nut #nutrition #culinarychefsportal #cooking #eating #healthylifestyle #healthyfoods

So, I spent a weekend hitting the open homes and seeing what it's like to try to buy as a solo person. Folks, it's tough out there... As an older, single person, it's really tough. Take a look at how I found "the churn" and let me know how it compares to your experience.

Waka Kotahi NZ … View moreNorth Shore motorists are advised to allow more time for travel ahead of a new road layout in Rosedale.
Opening this weekend, the new Paul Matthews Rd will join the SH18 Caribbean Drive intersection overnight on Friday as part of the Northern Corridor Improvements project.
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency Senior Manager Project Delivery Andrew Thackwray said people should allow extra time while they get used to the new layout.
“We’re advising people to plan their journeys as delays are expected during this busy time of the year," Thackwray said.
"This is a significant change to how people move around the area so they need to be patient while everyone adjusts.”
The biggest change is that people must turn right much earlier on SH18 westbound to access Paul Matthews Rd and the Rosedale industrial area.
The old intersection and right turn off the state highway will close permanently.
Commuters are encouraged to avoid SH18 and use SH1 instead, especially during the morning and afternoon peaks.
Motorists heading to Rosedale can exit at the SH1 Greville Road off-ramp.
Waka Kotahi will monitor the traffic signals and queues at the intersection in real time and change the signal phases to help improve traffic flows.
People should consider using public transport to travel to Albany Station and Westfield Albany Mall, especially during late night Christmas shopping hours.
The new layout includes a new walking and cycling path on Paul Matthews Rd that will connect to shared paths on Caribbean Drive and SH18.
The road will be in a temporary layout until further new connections and ramps open mid next year, eventually connecting SH18 to the Northern Motorway.
What do you think of the new layout?

Would you be put off by a health warning at your favourite swimming spot?
Around 100 popular swimming locations across the country have been slapped with health warnings for the summer season.
Local councils reported long-term poor water quality due to the presence of algal blooms and high concentrations of sediment in popular swimming spots like Lake Rotorua, Waikanae Beach and Paraparaumu Beach. Other sites have had consistently scored so low that local councils have stopped monitoring them and have instead posted long-term warning signs against swimming there.
Swimmers that ignore signs risk gastrointestinal illnesses and respiratory diseases from water made unsafe by farm runoff, sewage contamination and high bacteria counts.
