Hey neighbours,

In the lead up to the 2020 election, Stuff is keeping voters up to date with what’s happening in their electorate, through Neighbourly. Here’s what you need to know about the candidates in the running to be Botany’s MP.

At the October 17 election, New Zealanders will have the opportunity to choose their regional spokesperson.

Through the Mixed Member Proportional (MMP) voting system, those enrolled can vote for the party they want as well as a local representative.

Why does my MP matter?

The person elected will be the voice for your region in Parliament. If you’re having trouble getting entitlements or dealing with Government departments, they can help. If your community needs funding for certain projects or activities, or there isn’t enough healthcare in the area, the elected MP can step in and help.

Hi: I have cleared out my garage and would like to give to someone who has garage sales, a temporary, make-shift clothes hanger. My father fashioned two wooden posts and a metal rod that slips between them. It can lie flat in your garage so takes up very little room.
I also have two festive banners: one purple and one bright yellow on bamboo rods. They curve at the end and come down to dream catchers (one has lost its threads but is still OK). These are great to attract attention to your event. They just need propping up on something.
There may also be other things like boards that hook jewellery onto them, depending on what you want to take. First-come, first-served basis. Tel. 021 907 986 Carole

Hi Neighbours,
If you are finding it hard to get those unsightly stains off your shower glass then contact me on 02102265026. I am venturing out on my own after losing my job due to this unfortunate pandemic. I have many years of experience with this and am even in negotiations with my ex-employer to supply me with a reputable Nano Coating for treating the glass to drastically reduce your cleaning time and prevent future stains. I have attached photo's of my own shower that I did just a few weeks ago. Cost ranges from $150 to $250 for glass restoration only, depending on the size of the shower. Glass treatment would be extra.

Hi neighbours. Transport authorities have pulled double-decker buses from the Auckland Harbour Bridge and are warning it could close completely during a massive storm forecast for much of the country. this weekend.

MetService previously said travel disruptions are likely this weekend, as severe gales, heavy rain and big waves batter the country, followed by cold Antarctic air bringing snow to low levels in the deep south.

Meteorologists believe the storm could be “one of the most widespread severe weather events this year”.

Waka Kotahi New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) general manager of transport services Brett Gliddon advised motorcyclists and those driving high-sided vehicles to avoid the bridge.
