The annual fundraiser by the Friends of Orakei has enticed Auckland art enthusiasts for 11 years.
But this year it will be staged virtually from the school website orakeischool.co.nz...
About 50 artists will display their works online from 6pm on November 13 to 6pm on November 15.
Art Ex coordinator Tiffany Crombie says the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic created a lot of uncertainty for event organisers.
Due to the ongoing possibility of lockdowns that would disrupt an exhibition, the Friends of Orakei School took the bold move to shift its annual art exhibition online, she said.
Funds raised will go towards equipment and resources for the students including technology and musical instruments.
Proceeds are also earmarked for improvements to school facilities, which will benefit the wider Orakei community.
More than $50,000 was raised last year- a record amount for the exhibition.

Police Eagle helicopter crew were talking on camera about water safety when they were called to a real rescue on the Manukau Harbour.
The officers were starring in a video about dangers at sea ahead of Labour Weekend.
It took them a moment to realise the call about a kayaker in trouble was real- rather than a stitch up.
They stopped filming and rushed to the harbour after the alarm was raised about 3.20 pm on October 20.
Helicopter crew soon spotted the kayaker, who was plucked to safety by the Coastguard.
The kayaker was reported to be safe and well.

Every Thursday, the shuttle takes people, who often live alone or and no longer drive, to Botany Town Centre or Pakuranga Plaza for shopping and a cuppa.
They have a chance to talk, ask questions, walk around and form friendships. Drivers are mainly responsible for arranging the times and routes for pick-ups and delivering their passengers safely.
Companion’s help clients get into and out of the vehicle and assist with seatbelts. They can also book a walker or scooter for passengers to use at the shopping centres if required.
