They generously sponsored a kit called 'A Load of Rubbish'. This kit teaches students about recycling, linear and circular economies and aligns with HERA's sustainability goals. Students also get to play with several different super absorbent polymers, make their own bio-plastic out of cornflour and investigate 7 straws from the raw materials through to the end use. When I visited HERA to show them the kit, they were blown away by how comprehensive it was and that the kits are bilingual.

Don't go old-school this winter and just throw on another jersey to beat the cold. You deserve to be truly comfortable in a warm, dry home without stressing about power bills.

Warmer Kiwi Homes is a government grant that offers 80% of the cost of ceiling and underfloor insulation, and up to 80% off an energy-efficient heater, like a heat pump.

And you may get it even cheaper than that - lots of community organisations offer extra funding to reduce the cost further.

Check your eligibility, or check for your whānau, at www.warmerkiwihomes.govt.nz

We are holding open days at both our Auckland Centres (Māngere and Hobsonville) this weekend to try and rehome as many animals as possible. Anyone who adopts this weekend will get a huge 75% discount off standard adoption fees!

With over 150 animals waiting for their forever homes across both Centres, we encourage anyone who has been considering adopting a furry or feathered friend to make the most of this amazing opportunity. Normal adoption criteria will apply.

No adoption appointments needed, just head on down to your nearest Centre this weekend.

📍 Māngere: 9am-5pm Sat, 10am-4pm Sun
📍 Hobsonville: 10am-4pm Sat and Sun

We’ll have colouring activities to keep kids entertained, and a lolly-jar competition running for one lucky adopter to take home some goodies for the new companion animal ❤

Mark your calendars and come on down this Saturday or Sunday.

Please note: Dogs and puppies might or might not be able to go home with you on the same day. Please do bring the following to make it easier for us to assess whether your home is already suitable or might need some updates to accommodate a dog:
- Photos of the property where the dog / puppy will be living including any housing such as kennel & runs & fencing
- Information regarding landlords &/ or tenancy agreements for rental properties
