Sex workers of Aotearoa Art Exhibition

Depot from Devonport

Hello neighbours!

Just wanted to share our current art exhibition at the Depot Artspace "Sex workers of Aotearoa" which showcases 24 artworks done by sex workers themselves that give a deep insight into the lives, minds & emotions of sex workers - individually, collectively & politically. This is an annual exhibition and we are pleased to host this year's one.

We also have a talk with Q&A on a new book "Sex Work and the New Zealand Social Model: Decriminalization and Social Change" (Bristol University Press) by Lynzi Armstrong & Gillian Abel. These 2 editors of the book will be here at 12noon today for this.

Both events are free & all welcome.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

Poll: As a customer, what do you think about automation?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Press investigates the growing reliance on your unpaid labour.

Automation (or the “unpaid shift”) is often described as efficient ... but it tends to benefit employers more than consumers.

We want to know: What do you think about automation?
Are you for, or against?
