Missing Cats

Lorraine from Northpark

In 2021, two of our three cats moved out of our home. We had been in our current home for 1 year, and asked a neighbour to feed our three cats while we went on a family holiday. When we arrived home, our remaining cat had anxiety (which was new for him) and our other two cats had left. We searched and searched, but we did also keep hoping that they might return. We adore our cats and had hand raised two of them from kittens, whom were born in our home.

However, we are now feeling grief and despair. Our best hopes that our Artie (5yr old tabby) and Sherlock (8 yr old ginger and white) would come home have not come true.

Our 15 yr old is still devastated and has now mounted a Community Wide Search. Posters are going up around the neighbourhood, and we are offering a Cash Reward.

Our 15 year old would be ecstatic to have the cat-babies returned. Our existing cat, Polly, still has anxiety. He relied on the other two, and he just hasn't ever returned to his perky, silly self. We may need to medicate him for his anxiety. Or! How wonderful it would be if our Cat friends could be located.

Sherlock is nearly 8, and he is a heart-melting ginger and white fella who is adept at finding willing cat-devotees. His style is to find several homes that adore him: and he lives in each of them. Simultaneously. He has done this in the past, and may be doing this now.

Polly, the black cat, is still our cat. The cats who are missing are Sherlock (ginger and white) and Artie (brown tabby with a grey tabby tail.)

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

Poll: As a customer, what do you think about automation?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Press investigates the growing reliance on your unpaid labour.

Automation (or the “unpaid shift”) is often described as efficient ... but it tends to benefit employers more than consumers.

We want to know: What do you think about automation?
Are you for, or against?
