Last day of Ecofest North Backyard Actions

The Team from

CLIMATE CHANGE FOR HUMANITY
We take this opportunity to acknowledge and to thank all our amazing contributors to Ecofest North 2020. Our original festival programme was interrupted by CO-VID 19 lockdown, however, we felt a deep responsibility to continue to share important life-changing actions and information during this time of isolation. The opportunity of turning Ecofest North into a Backyard Actions was facilitated by offering to share links from presenters who had videos/audio available thus allowing Ecofest North to support in this time of great change and growth, moving us all gently in the direction of living more lightly on our Earth!

Today's featured events:
🍃Reversing Climate Change - Be the Change, Learn How
🍃Northern Pathway: Westhaven to Akoranga Survey
🍃Zero Waste Daily kōrero via Facebook Livestream
🍃Big backyard clean-up

🌏 Much gratitude to our sponsors @Aucklandcouncil @Livelightly Auckland Foundation @Kaipatikilocalboard for everything you have done for us in the past, everything you still do and will continue to do, we at Kaipātiki Project just want you to know how thankful we are, and we look forward to a prosperous future together!

This festival with all intentions was about allowing people to interact directly in our neighbourhoods, communities and environment. We hope that you have felt inspired by what we have been able to share in some way that will bring about a healthy change for our wellbeing and the Earth. We are seeing the quick results of nature returning, when humans make way for nature to thrive, all the beauty of natural world surrounds us with a refreshing view of how life can be if we adopted a more respectful and collaborative way of living and thriving together. We thank you for your interest, participation in Ecofest North 2020, and we look forward to bringing another amazing festival to you in 2021.

But we are not saying goodbye
As Ecofest North 2020 ends, stay tuned to this page, as we will continue with Backyard Actions to keep you inspired and informed with new simple ways to assist with changes that you can make at home and in your local neighbourhood. Live Lightly and Love our Earth!

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
