Hi Auckland neighbours,

Great news! Auckland is now in alert level 2.
The rest of the country has shifted to alert level 1.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Georgia Forrester

There are three community cases, two siblings who are students at Papatoetoe High School, and their household contact.

There was also one new case in MIQ on Wednesday.

Schools in Auckland can reopen. But Papatoetoe High School will remain closed for the rest of the week.

Teachers and students from that school must return a negative test before returning next week.

Covid-19 alert level 3 took effect in Auckland at 11.59pm on Sunday

The Government is making it easier for businesses to get one of its support measures - if current alert levels are extended.

People identified as contacts or who were at the locations of interest are being asked to get tested.

Here is a brief summary from the main strands UNDERSTAND; KNOW, DO
UNDERSTAND;
Colonisation sought to assimilate Maori
Dislocate them from their lands and
Replace their institutions economy and tikanga with European equivalents
Colonisation and the privileges deriving from it disadvantaged Maori
NZ’s history has been shaped by a contest of power leading to damage injustice and conflict
KNOW: National contexts
Whakapapa -familial links
Tuurangawaewae- Relationships to land water and resources
Tino rangatira focuses on the history of contests over authority and control
DO: TOPICS FOR INQUIRY LEARNING
Identifying sequences of past events and making connections with the present
Critiquing- Paying deliberate attention to Maori resources and approaches
Interpreting past decisions and actions and with hindsight make judgments on right and wrong

It is very important to submit on this topic for the future of our children

Hi. Start 2021 learning to play the acoustic/classical guitar & violin. I am able to teach both to all ages…young & matured.

My qualifications are NZ Suzuki (guitar & violin), violin grade 8 (distinction), ATCL (distinction) - a diploma in music performance. When I teach, I use the best of both worlds of both traditional & Suzuki teachings & it seems this combination works well. Last year, I was a school prefect. I teach at Half Moon Bay, at a reasonable rate & can teach in the weekends too.

Hi neighbours,

How have you been passing the time during lockdown?

With Auckland back in Level 3, most of us are back working from the kitchen table, juggling work, school and childcare - simultaneously for some.

Last year, Stuff reported on the great array of hobbies New Zealanders picked up during the lockdown, such as home workouts and learning a few new cooking hacks. PC gaming also proved popular with Google search trends for March 2020 showing a 400 per cent search increase for the term.

What are you going to be up to during Level 3? Share your thoughts below and don't forget to type NFP if you don't want your comment featured in the conversations section of the Eastern Courier.
