MSO presents our 'Family Concert', 5pm June 16, Due Drop Events Centre, Manukau

This vibrant family concert is an opportunity for our tamarki and their whānau to come together and experience some truly exciting classical music! The repetoire features:

ROSSINI: ‘BARBER OF SEVILLE’ OVERTURE
WILLIAMS: HARRY POTTER ‘HEDWIG’S THEME’ & ‘RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK’
BACH: CONCERTO FOR TWO VIOLINS
MOZART: ‘LAUDATE DOMINUM’
HAMILTON: ‘THE SONG IS BUT A DOOR’
ORFF: ‘O FORTUNA’
HANDEL: 'PIANO CONCERTO NO. 2'
PUCCINI: SELECTED ARIAS

...with performances by the winners of the second NICHOLAS TARLINGA ARIA COMPETITION, including overall winner, the very talented Sarah Mileham.

Join us for an enchanting musical journey that promises to captivate audiences of all ages. The evening kicks off with the playful overture of Rossini’s ‘Barber of Seville’, setting the stage for a delightful fusion of classical and contemporary masterpieces. Experience soul-stirring Hallelujahs harmonised by two choirs, and the magic and adventure of Harry Potter and Indiana Jones to take you on a captivating ride.


We are thrilled to welcome back the charismatic Brent Stewart, whose presence charmed both the MSO and our audiences, filling the venue to capacity. Furthermore, we are excited to showcase two exceptionally talented young violinists who will perform the mesmerising J.S Bach Double Violin Concerto. This promises to be an evening filled with extraordinary music and memorable moments.
