Community Fruit and Veg Stands

Esme from Dannemora

Hi Neighbours, I read about this yesterday in Stuff and found the community on Facebook. I wondered if anyone would be interested in putting a stand somewhere in our area. Such a brilliant idea and stops fruit and veg going to waste in gardens in our area. (Think citrus at the moment!) The contact person is Mark Dennis. He started the first stand and it's taken off on the North Shore but nothing in our area yet. I would love to manage a stand but we live down a driveway so not a good spot. Would love to hear from others who are keen to get this started!

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
