Darrell Daglish from North Shore Concert Band

We are a friendly, community band, made up of great people of all ages, cultures, and musical abilities.
If you would like to try out our band, we practice in the auditorium at Birkenhead College each Tuesday night @ 7.30.
We are in real need of a Tuba/Base, French horns, trumpets, and basoon right now. But we would be keen for any saxophones, clarinets, flutes, oboe, and percussion.
We play everything from movie themes, musicals, classical, rock, jazz etc.
For many years we have had an annual concert at the PumpHouse Theatre...this year we have 2. The one we just had was a sellout!
It's fun.
If you want to know anything more about the band please call me, Darrell, on 021 99 88 95.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

Poll: As a customer, what do you think about automation?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Press investigates the growing reliance on your unpaid labour.

Automation (or the “unpaid shift”) is often described as efficient ... but it tends to benefit employers more than consumers.

We want to know: What do you think about automation?
Are you for, or against?
