Hi everybody !

Samineh from Birkenhead

Hi everyone! Hope you're all doing okay in lockdown and haven't been affected by it too much.
Just wanted to let people know that since Chiropractic has become essential (since Tuesday 7th April) for acute cases we are open to help the public (Revolution Chiropractic NZ). We are located at 46 Lake Road, Northcote. 09 4183718.

Some people think its ridiculous but I have seen patients that either cannot take pain medication or when they do it does nothing to their pain level so it is really helpful for some people and we are doing this just to help out those people who really need it and want it.

I don't think people should live in agony and have such low quality of life just because of lockdown. We can do everything super safe so why not! It is in no way a busy time for us or going to make us busy.

We could have chosen to stay closed as it is really a lot of work to set up everything and go through all the steps but we wanted to be of some/any help that we can be and if you or someone you know has come to see us before then you know we do everything super thorough (even in lockdown), I have just finished sending reports to the patients I've seen of all the home care advice I can think of such as exercises, stretches, water intake, sitting posture, general exercise, breathing techniques, supplements and so on.

Opening our doors also means that we can take some strain away from gp clinics and emergency clinics who are dealing with covid and have enough to do already.

We have strict guidelines to follow.

-We first do a phone consultation to see if it's safe and helpful to see the person face to face for an examination and treatment.
-We see one person at a time with masks and gloves on.
-The person coming in (the patient) will also be wearing a mask.
-Rooms, tables and all clinic areas are cleaned thoroughly after each patient. Let's just say there is pretty much zero chance of getting any type of virus here and WAY less chance of it than if you were to go to an emergency or gp clinic.

So there. That's my 2 cents. Hope to be of service.

Take care :)

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

Poll: Should complete designs be shared with the public, or should the community help shape the designs from the start?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Post recently shared an opinion piece on the Harbour Crossing and why a more democratic approach might be needed 🚗🚲👟

While most decisions sit within the political arena, many organisations—like NZTA—manage long-term projects that go beyond party lines. Politics can sometimes disrupt progress, and the next Harbour Crossing is a big decision that will affect all Aucklanders.

We’d love your thoughts: Should near-complete, shovel-ready designs be shared with the public, or should the community have a hand in shaping the designs from the start?
