Opaketai Beach Haven Gardening Day this Sat 5th Sept 9.00am

Lisbeth Alley from Beach Haven Birkdale Residents Assn Inc

HI Everyone,
This coming Saturday 5th September from 9.00am to 12.00pm, Beach Haven Placemaking Group and the BH Residents Association will be working in Opaketai Beach Haven Garden spreading mulch donated by Treescape. We will also spread the mulch in the Rangatira Road- Beach Haven School Walkway garden as well.
This is vital work to enable the gardens to survive over summer with minimal (if any) watering – especially crucial if we get another drought this summer. We would love your help if you can make it - please bring a wheelbarrow or buckets and a shovel/spade, etc.

We will be maintaining social distancing as much as possible so a mask and hand sanitister, etc would also be a good idea 

See you there, Lisbeth
Beach Haven Placemaking Group and BH Birkdale Residents Association

The Riddler from The Neighbourly Riddler

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
