Repurpose your unused digital devices!

The Team from Depot Artspace

We want to close the digital divide!

As part of the Depots' Artslab programme, we support 180 unemployed creatives find work every year.

We usually provide laptops at our workshops but due to lockdown we can’t, so some of our creatives are feeling very isolated and struggling to apply for work.

Recently on RNZ it was revealed that on average each NZ household has 6.5 digital devices but only two thirds of these are used.

We want to set up a programme whereby you can drop off your unused digital devices to us and we will repurpose them.

So if you have an old phone, tablet or laptop that works please get in touch: artslab@depotartspace.co.nz

Alternatively, you can drop them off on Wednesdays 11am - 5pm during the current lockdown level 3. We will have a staff member present those days.

Thank you in advance!

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
