Three generations on an island in our Hauraki Gulf

Iain from Devonport

Why do we only recognise a "climate emergency" when it's right in front of us, when our playing fields begin to drown, as is evident now in Little Shoal Bay?

Sue Neureuter's "Stories of The Noises" at 3pm this Sunday (8/9) at Sunnynook Community Centre, 148 Sycamore Drive, is about one family's experience of a changing Gulf over three generations. A very personal and moving account supported with images and sound. Entry is FREE. Here's a link to that event on Neighbourly, www.neighbourly.co.nz...

Here is Brad Flahive's coverage of Little Shoal Bay's significant issues: www.stuff.co.nz...

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.

This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Do you think this ban is reasonable?
