The Great Auckland Virtual Duck Race
Due to Covid-19, The Great Auckland Duck Race this year is going VIRTUAL. Instead of cheering on your duck by the white-water rapids at Vector Wero Whitewater Park, do it from the comfort of your couch! On October 18th go to ‘The Great Auckland Duck Race’ Facebook page.
Can I attend the event on the day?
Unfortunately not. Due to the uncertainty of which alert level Auckland will be in, the physical event is sadly not taking place but you can view the races virtually as detailed above.
Can I still buy a duck?
Yes! Business ducks and Everybody tickets through our website. Business ducks will need to be returned by October 7th. Everybody duck tickets will be available to buy until October 13th
What prizes can I win?
We have fantastic prizes for each race:
● School Race: 1st, 2nd & 3rd
● Businesses Race: 1st, 2nd & 3rd
● Everybody’s Race: 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th
● Best-Dressed School Duck
● Best-Dressed Business Duck
How can I still support the event?
You can still support the event by;
● Being interactive on our Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn
● Buying a Business duck on our website
● Buying a $2 Everybody ticket on our website.
All of us here at Life Education Trust Counties Manukau are incredibly grateful for all the support we have received thus far! Thank you to all our supporters and helpers! All profits raised will go directly towards delivering Life Education’s health & well-being programme in local schools.

Q&A: Animal Welfare with SPCA's Dr Corey Regnerus-Kell
We're back with a Neighbourly Q&A session. This time with Dr Corey Regnerus-Kell who is a qualified veterinarian and SPCA’s General Manager Animal Services.
A little bit about Corey:
Corey has an interest in veterinary medicine, animal welfare, and biosecurity. He shares his home with ostriches, guinea pigs, bees, a rescue tortoiseshell named Lynk, a ragdoll named Oscar, two mini foxies called Chester and Maya and a black Labrador named Bonnie.
Dr Corey Regnerus-Kell is excited to answer your questions on all things animal welfare, whether it's how to best look after your new pet, how to combat separation anxiety or how to report neglect.
